KAUFELA FOUNDATION DONATES FOOD PARCELS TO THE NEEDY – KAE NEWS
The Kaufela Foundation which is the philanthropic arm of KAE News embarked on charity work yesterday, the 18th of April 2020. The charitable organisation identified and distributed food parcels to indigent households in KAE (Kaalfontein, Allandale and Ebony Park) and Ivory Park.
KAE News posted an article ”FOOD RELIEF FOR NEEDY GAUTENG RESIDENTS” on the 14th of April 2020. On the article needy families are called to contact Gauteng Support Online by the Gauteng Department. We were really concerned about the comments from our readers saying calls and emails for food relief are not being answered by the Gauteng Government.
We took the comments to the test by contacting the Gauteng Support online ourselves. We were greatly disappointed that our numerous calls went unanswered. When a call placed by one of our reporters was finally answered it was abruptly disconnected when he mentioned that he’s “looking for food parcels”. Furthermore, our emails have not been answered at the time of publishing.
Through, KAUFELA Foundation we bought food parcels to people that commented on the article needing food parcels. Beneficiaries of the KAE News donation reside in Kaalfontein, Ivory Park and Ebony Park. Other families were referred to us by one of our followers.
We believe this small donation will go a long way in feeding the families especially until there’s certainty around the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of the lockdown. The Bible says: “Blessed is the hand that gives. We must develop the habit of helping the needy to help themselves. The special day was important and it should serve as a starting point for us to help the needy whenever we can. We must always remember that for poor people, filling their stomachs is a daily struggle.
We call on companies, organisations and individuals that want to make a difference in our community to reach out on [email protected] or [email protected]
