As at today, 20 April 2020, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 3,300. This is an increase of 142 from the previously reported cases. On a positive note, recoveries are now at 1,055 with 165 new recoveries recorded today.
Unfortunately, 4 more people have passed away due to the coronavirus bringing the National death toll to 58. We send our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
The total number of tests conducted to date is 121,510. An impressive 6,799 tests were done by the public and private health facilities. The significant increase in testing is attributed to the mass community screening and testing taking place in provinces.
