As of today, 4 May 2020, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 7.720. This is an increase of 437 from previously reported cases.

Sadly, we report a further 7 Coronavirus related deaths. 6 from the Western Cape and 1 in KwaZulu-Natal. This brings the National death toll to 138. We wish to express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased patients.

The number of recoveries in South Africa is now 2,746 and 257,541 tests have been conducted to date.
