ESKOM STARTS WITH REPLACEMENT OF FAILED TRANSFORMERS – KAE NEWS

The Power Utility Eskom, has started replacing failed transformers in KAE (Kaalfontein, Allandale and Ebony Park) as promised after the Ebony Park Shutdown protest action on Thursday, 5 August 2020.

An Eskom Distributor truck was spotted in Allandale today 7 August 2020. Eskom has committed to replacing and repairing 2 transformers a day in the area.

ESKOM TECHNICIANS IN KAALFONTEIN

As reported earlier. Eskom technicians have restored electricity in parts of Allandale.

Eskom technicians are currently at Kaalfontein replacing failed transformers due to overloading. The illegal connections and bypassed meters were removed to safeguard assets from repeated failure.

Members of the South African Police Services (SAPS) are escorting Eskom trucks.

KAE communities are requested to contribute to the integrity of the electricity network by reporting illegal connections, illegal operations, meter bypassing, exposed wires or any electrical wiring that appears dangerous to the Eskom Crime-Line number 0800 11 27 22 (toll-free).
